Sorry if this is in wrong area, couldn't think of where to put it!

I've just got a set of roof bars for my 3 door fiesta and only after getting everything fitted, did I realise that both feet connect on the door... now this means that I only have 450mm gap between each bar and makes me wonder if that's going to be enough for my Thule 591 carriers?

Does anyone have any experience mounting roof carriers like this?

TIA for your help.

You need a short roof adaptor. That looks way too close together to me.

Or similiar depending on you roof rack make.

Yeah, thought it would be too close...

I can't find a short roof adapter for the bars I've got and got a feeling the Thule one won't fit.
Fast becoming a pain! haha

What's the make of the roof rack?

Slide the ski part further forward,so you have equal length front and back over hang.See what that looks like, should be fine.

Just done that, and it does feel a lot more secure

Will drop bike on later on tonight and see how it feels driving along the road

Only do 10 miles with it at the most and that's not very often.

Farad, it does seem a good quality rack and can't fault the actual build - just the spacing.
