Hi there, I've been getting some conflicting responses from varies bike shops as well as from Maxxis regarding whether or not it is possible and feasible to run the new 27.5 High Roller 2 Plus on a 27.5 Boost fork, specifically a 2017 Fox Float 36 160mm 27.5 boost fork.
Below are some of the responses that I got:
"From what I have heard, these tires will fit in most boost forks, but you may want to check with FOX prior to installation. As for the rim size, as stated in the sizing, these will be for a 27.5 rim (recommended 35-45mm internal width rim) Thanks Your Maxxis Support Team"
"As to our knowledge, you will need a 29er boost fork to run 27.5+ tires. The clearance on a 27.5 fork is too small for the plus size tires. If you have any questions or comments please feel free to email or give us a call." Note: this reply is from a super awesome guy from a super awesome online bike shop!
I hope I could get the comment from someone who has actually fielded the said front tire/fork setup.
Thanks!
p.s.: I wasn't able to contact Fox directly as apparently you'd have to be on email list for ridefox.com in order to get your message through.
