60/40 downhill/uphill bike under a 1000$CAN

Which bike would be great to go uphill, but also be very fun to go downhill with rocks, dirt, roots and little jumps. I am more thinking about having fun downhill than being easy uphill, but I don't want to be death after the uphill so a 60/40 downhill/uphill would be the best according to me. My budget is a 1000$Can max and I want a double suspension. A used bike would be great. My height is 5"7 if it can help and I wouldn't want the bike to be too hold. For example, not older than a 2004-06. Hope you can find one that can fit my needs!
