Hi there.

I am planning to visit a friend who works in Glasgow by the end of May but since I will have a few days when he will be working I was wondering if anybody in here knew if there is a way to visit some good trails outside of Glasgow and if it is hard to get to by train/bus.

I ride a Canyon full suspension bike and normally ride in places like Swinley and Epping so easy to get to from London etc.

My question is should I bring my own bike and is there any way to get to some good forrests and trail highlands near Glasgow without to much hassle. I.e can I rent a decent full suspention etc. or should I bring my own and is the parks and mtb park easy to access by public transport?

Let me know.

Cheers
Steven.

Dunkeld and Bridge of Allan are the two that jump out straight away. Both accessible by train and both with great riding.

Progression bikes in Dunkeld can sort you out with a hire bike and trail info

No bike hire in Bridge of Allan as far as I know, but the big hill behind the town, Dumyat, and the Mine Woods and Uni woods offer some brilliant riding
