I'm gonna be in Boone next weekend 6/9-11 for a yoga event. I'll deff be hitting rocky knob. I'm from Durham and I haven't been out this way before. Should I just shred rocky for the days I'm there. Or is there may other must see locations

Rocky Knob is hella fun, and good for a day, but two or three days might be a wee bit much. Beech Mountain is a lift-assist park about 30 minutes west, and is good for a fun day. I've seen folks out there on XC rigs, but a 150+mm travel bike would be ideal, otherwise they rent bikes. There is also Wilson Creek, but public beta can be hard to come by. There are a couple of trails on MTB Project, and there is a map that you can purchase, but it's easy to get turned around out there. Try the local Boone shop (Magic Cycles), and they might be able to get you settled on a Wilson route.
Have fun!
