I am looking something around the sub 1500 range. I had my heart set on the Santa Cruz Chameleon but i have not been able to find the 1600 dollar one in a large. Infact most all the bikes i have looked for are no where to be found. Bad time to be looking for bikes?

Anyway looking for something 27.5+, i am 5'11 235lbs, will be doing trail riding, some jumps but for now just riding trails and dropping some lbs. I have not been into biking for a while.

I have tried out the Specialized fuse 6fattie base model and it was pretty cool. Then i tried the 2000 dollar Chameleon and omg so nice.. but to expensive i think.

Can you guys give me some suggestions on some bikes to look at. I am assuming hardtails are really the only option.

The Kona precept line may be in the price range depending on where you're at.

Have you ever looked at Commencal. I just bought mine a couple months ago. Absolutely love it.

Bang for the buck. Cannondale Cujo series. Basically a "Budget" version of thier Beast of the East.

I was in the same boat earlier this year. I really wanted a chameleon but the large frame was sold out. I ended up with a kona big honzo. I highly recommend it.

I just got a vitus sentier vrx off of chain reaction for about 1500. It is a great bike and can descend just as well as it climbs

Does the Commencal meta HT have quick release or through axles in the rear? I'm a bigger rider (6'1, 275 lbs) and have had problems with a lot of QR not staying centered and getting pulled to one side. I like through axles becasue its the same everytime, plus you dont have to keep adjusting the rear disk.

I've been looking at the Meta and the On One Dee Dar. Dee dar has a smaller fork, but through axles front and rear
