I did ride in the Mijas area with a guiding company and the trails were not specifically more difficult than anywhere else in the Costa del Sol region. If you are heading to the area just be prepared for endless loose rocks on the trails, it's a bit like riding on marbles at times. Also be sure to check out the cable car at Trivoli world in Benalmadena, you can access 4 great trails some pretty awesome terrain easily with it and it runs all year.

How did you find the difficulty level of trails in Costa del Sol specifically around the Mijas mountains? Judging from trailforks and people´s experience they seem quite downhilly and fairly difficult.

We have all kind of trails and terrain here, come and ride them! \m/

Well, Almendrales, Montes de Malaga, El Chorro, Estepona and some areas in Ojen are not rocky at all. Jarapalos and Calamorro areas yes, precisely the trails that start from the cable car. Cheers Kevan!
