first of all, apologies for a very delayed reply... it's been a hectic couple of weeks for me working on a district ride event and shooting for a bike park in austria.
anyway, thanks for the submission.
really like your shot! this is what my dream dirt jumping session would look like hahaha dusty jumps, insanely beautiful kamloops landscape and a stylish rider... doesn't get any better than this!
there's nothing bad or wrong with this shot and i don't want to be picky in a silly way...
Hey Simon, I was just checking out your stuff from District Ride. Great work on all the photos, they are really great! I was hoping to get your feedback on a couple of images that I would like to submit for POD. Any thoughts on the images below?
I thought I might add another shot as well, what do you think about this one? Late autumn ride in the alps, sunrise and some frozen small lake combined with a manual (ah and the Eiger North Face in the background):
I like this shot also quite a lot, from the same day, but at almost sunset:
first of all, sorry for a very slow response... life...
but i am here and stoked to look at more photos submitted by you, guys

i like this one more, @DJR9000 [such a cool nickname, by the way hahaha]
mainly it's because of the play with the light and shadows... there are many solid points in this shot - composition - use of the ambient light - a very good, strong moment
sadly, there's one major buzzkill here - the sharpness the rider is out of focus, which unfortunately disqualifies this photo almost completely, i am afraid...
man, if i would be counting sick shots in which rider was of out focus it would go in hundreds. that's just the nature of photography...
it's always funny how almost the whole rider is pretty much in focus, but his head "slipped" out of that focus range... so damn annoying!
and it's especially visible in racing when those guys are moving super fast.

keep shooting photos, man!
Cheers for the feedback. I didn't even really notice but now you mention it, yep. That'll teach me to rely on the old 7D's autofocus system, the one in my new 5D is a fair bit better
In a similar vein, what do you think of this one? Was an old one i took with a bit of reprocessing to maximise the effect of the light in the same way (a couple more in the album too)
