Hey, guys! My inseam is 83cm, tyee Al M 29er. Do you think 185mm dropper will be OK? What about frame insertion length?
I ride the 27.5 Al Tyee in M, but my inseam is also 84cm. I ride the 185 revive and have to pull it around 2cm out with 175mm cranks, but I could also slam the post all the way down

I would just check the inseam length/ max dropper table provided by propain, it will give you the info what is recommended

I’m building up a Tyee with my son (15 yrs, racing Enduro). We haven’t decided on shock yet. It’s a bit of a budget build so we chose between Marzocchi Bomber CR and DVO Jade (without x). He is not much at a tinkerer, just riding, so we are leaning towards the Bomber since it’s cheaper, less knobs, and seems easier to get spare parts. Am I missing something?

the new whip!

Out of curiosity, what's your thought process behind the stem length? Generally, I'd favor sizing up the frame as opposed to changing the steering/handling characteristics significantly.

Looks clean, I'm sure it's a blast!

Thank you!

A couple factors, I wanted a more playful ride as opposed to a sled. So looking at the numbers I noticed that the L Tyee had a longer wheelbase compared to my XL 2015 Giant Trance. The Tyee is also more slack (obviously haha). I am a fan of 27.5" wheels and was not really interested in 29, then saw that Propain doesn't make a XL 27.5 so the decision was easy for me. I did find that the stem it came with felt a bit too small for me, I am right at the top end of sizing for L (6' 2") so I decided to try a longer stem and it feels right at home.

It's a flying machine for sure. I'm between sizes & went smaller. 5mm less reach than my Carbine so I knew it would fit.

Would be nice to see a pic of you and your 10.5 feet tall body. And a pic of you when you are riding a bike. That smaller one as you were between sizes. Smile
