Im thinking of picking up a new DSLR, as im planning on continuing photography and wanting to advance in it. The sony A-100 has really caught my attention, any one have any pros/cons or reasons I should Avoid it, Im also thinking of a Pentax k-100D
Pentax K100D Super replaced the K100D. I would take the K100D over the sony just because there a much larger choice of lenses and the hight ISO noise performance of the K100D is MUCH better then the A100.
I've been wanting the a100 for a long time now, but i decided to buy more smaller things that i would use more often than a camera i would only use every so often...
does the super now use a battery pack or is it still 4 batteries?
the kit I was looking at came with the k100D, a 18-55 and a 55-200? 3 filters a wide angle 2 tripods a case a backpack, and a few other small things.. the A-100 was a bit more but came with 1 filter a 4gb card, a 18-55mm, wide angle, and two tri-pods.
my friend bought one (sony) and freakin hates it! It just feels really cheap, and chincy, not to impressed with it's performance either. I've had both Nikon and Canon, and can say that I prefer Canon for sports photography. Most of their lenses and stuff are backwards compatible, something that Nikon doesn't. Check out the new 40D, if you don't want to spend that much, look into a 30D, once the 40 comes out, the 30 price will drop.
I agree with dishboy, Pentax's are wicked, also im pretty sure pentax is compatible with any year of pentax lens so say you have a new 07 camera you can use older ones from pentax also
don't know if I could finance this... http://cgi.ebay.ca/Pentax-K10D-w-Pentax18-55mm-Lens-2GB-Kit-USA-Brand-New_W0QQitemZ290168481820QQihZ019QQcategoryZ30020QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
just wanna say that 9 out of 10 dentists brush with Canon because they are too lame to try another toothbrush. that's one thing. DON'T TAKE D40. that's another.
I just purchased a Canon 40d with a EF 28-135 IS lens and it is amazing! 6.5 Fps! great for sequences! I have had a Rebel xT and a xTi (400d) and this camera tromps them both! I would say it is as good as a 5D at a 1/3 the price. You just don't get the full frame like with the 5D and 1D markIII.
Get one and you will be laughing at all the guys who spent too much on their Nikon's
