Trailforks Red Square Trail Center Icon on maps -- big and cluttered?

Maybe it's just me, but when I'm browsing any map while relatively zoomed out, the red square icons for trail centers really can get annoying. Not just the icons, but also the labels. They cover up so much of the trail tracks, and especially when there are dozens of them it comes across as redundant and somewhat cluttered, IMHHO.

I'd like to suggest that there really is no need for an icon at all. Just display the name of the trail center in a label above the trail listing, with an arrowhead connecting the label to the trail system center. This will help the user focus on the trails rather than the bright red trailforks label.

My two cents, hope it's not overblown.
