rockshox lyrik knocking noise

Hi guys i was wondering if anyone has any ideas why my lyrik is making a nicking noise its only a month old and has about 20 hours. it knocks on the transition between compression and rebound. should i do a 50 or 200 hr service or warranty it to sram? also does anyone know if doing a service by yourself voids the warranty.
