I havent put my leg over a bicycle in 8 years, I use to own many bikes including an Intense m9 DH rig. Anyways I want to get back into riding pedal bikes and live in a flat area now with no hills to go down. My question is;
Whats the best 2017/18 DJ bike?
Intended use: -Dirt jumps -Urban/park riding -Needa to handle abuse(I've broken every bicycle feame I ever have owned.) -6' tall 170lbs
Nobody? I know this question gets asked a lot but im looking for some direction. I have been out of the game for awhile but looking for answers. I have tons of mechanical knowledge I can share with the PB community but looking for some love!
Sweet! Now we are headed somewhere. I notice all the complete bikes have pikes or a circus fork on them. Back in "my day" I never liked RS or manitou. Are they sturdier now? Cant find a complete bike with Fox 36.
So I priced out a custom build, its about $3,000 with componets I'd like. But I do like the idea of the $1500 price range completes. Thoughts? Im really hard on parts/bikes. Also dont wanna buy a junk bike and snap the frame or fork in short order.
RS Pike works and is pretty light & stiff. The Manitou Circus Expert is also a solid choice, no worries. Canyon is heading towards the USA next year, i guess, but the point is: Customer service/support is not existing! Also the wheels on the stitched pro aren‘t very durable. Why don‘t you buy a used one?! You are able to get more for your money than buying a new one + changing some parts. (Dartmoor 26 Player, Trek Ticket, Ns Bikes Decade + Fox 831 series fork, Rock Shox Pike or Manitou Circus Expert + stiff wheels should be fine) also Green bikes Scope is super nice, but i‘m not sure if it is available in the us.
