Replacing Banshee Rune - More versatile

Hi there

For the last 3 years, I´ve been riding my Large 2015 Banshee Rune.

27.5 2.3” tires
160mm Pike RCT3
Monarch Plus RC3
X01 drivetrain
ZTR Flow EX wheels
Reverb

It´s a great bike, but when I built it I was looking for kindda freeride bike that could pedal uphill also… I even raced some enduro.

My rigind style changed a little and now I usually ride with my wife… so the trails are a bit less technical... more XC loops, more uphills…

The Banshee climbing position is bad (I´ve put a 60mm stem to try to compensate)… long rides are not it´s strength…. I need something more versatile.

I´d like to replace the frame with a more climbing friendly option, but I don´t want to lose the possibility of riding enduro style trails and bike park style tracks.

I really like the SC Bronson proposal.

I´m going to Miami in January and my budget is US$ 2000.
What should I buy?

• Brand new Santa Cruz Bronson Alumminum (lower end shock??)
• Used 2016/2017 Santa Cruz Bronson C
• Brand New Banshee Spitfire
• Used Intense Tracer T275
• Used Ibis Mojo HD3

Any other suggestion?

Thanks

3 years on a Banshee and it didn't breakEek

Seriously though, even my 16 Slash runs circles around my Rune V2 for pedaling and climbing. Get most any 140mm-120mm trail bike and you got the best of both worlds. I remember riding my friends Trance when I had my Rune and setting fastest times on up and DH segments on a strange bike. That little bit of travel, you wont even miss it!

^second

I have a megatrail (more enduro speced 150/165 rear travel) and it is a fantastic bike! climbs great and descends even better! if you are not set on 27.5 wheels also check out their trail pistol, and the smash.

good luck bike hunting!

Thank you guys.

To be honnest, I´ve been buying kindda uncommon bikes and cars for the last years and it´s always really difficult to sell them in Brazil, where I live.

I think I´d prefer a more common/well known brand...

Guerilla does not even exist in Brazil
Banshee used to be distributed here... but not anymore.

Specialized, Trek, Giant, Scott.. these are really commond brands.

Santa Cruz, Intense, Yeti.... are also not so common here, but everybody dreams about it... and there are companies oficcially distributing these brands here... so I´d risk it.

Any new advices based on that?

If your planning on using the parts from your Rune a lot of newer frames are boost so your hub may not fit.

After having a few uncommon bikes I stick to stuff I can get local now. That's how I ended up on my Trek Slash. I'd look into maybe a Giant Trance or a Trek Remedy.

Yeah, I´m aware of the hub issue... but that would not stop me... I can buy a new hub.

THanks for the suggestions

Sorry reviving old thread. I’ve been riding banshees since 2004. My 2015 Rune is my park bike now; I’ve never cracked one. What part of the frame broke? I’m curious what I should be looking out for! Also curious under what circumstances your bikes broke. I weigh 160 with gear so while I do ride hard, it’s not a lot of
weight.
