I’d put a little varnish or epoxy over it, for sure.

Epoxy wasn't recomended to me because it doesn't allow you to see if there's any crack developing...

Que estranha

I’d think you could see right through a thin layer of epoxy.

Well, it was an carbon repair expert company that told me..... What can I say...

Don't be a pussy, just ride it.

Bikes are meant to have scars.

Unless that scar develops a crack, then snaps.

To OP: Cranks look fine and I would confidently ride it myself. Although I did switch to alloy cranks (XTR's & Hope's) on all my bikes for this reason! Wink

Fair enough. Can’t understand the logic behind that one since the Carbon is layed up in epoxy to begin with, and a thin layer should cure in a manner that could be easily seen through. But I’m no carbon fiber repair expert.

FWIW, the part that is damaged on your crank is the part of the arm where the carbon is thickest. With a tiny scrape like that I wouldn't be worried about riding it at all.

Hi all again,

I have done some rides with the cranks now. And they look pretty stiff and durable to me. I'm keeping them scratched Smile

Thanks for the advice.

Regards,

Fill it with Super glue, then put baking soda on the top. Cures hard as nails. That's how they fix carbon helicopter blades.
