Hi all
I have a question regarding storage of my CF bike. I've got it hanging in my furnace room
Would a furnace motor cause any type of issue with the CF? I know if u store winter tires near any type of electric motor ( like a furnace )can cause electrolysis to form. Just wondering if it would do the same with the CF and aluminum parts. Thx for your time

I work in the carbon fiber business and I've never heard anything like that. Never heard of a problem with storing tires of any kind near an electric motor, either. Did the person telling you these things happen to be wearing a foil hat...? This sounds like B.S. to me.

Thx for the reply. I beleive it has to do with ozone being emitted from an electric motor. Can cause rubber and certain types of metal to react
I was just wondering if CF would be affected.

I wouldn't worry too much about ozone. Regardless of how much the motor is or isn't emitting, the furnace will be taking combustion air from the same space, so it's not like ozone is really going to build up in the room.
