So I seem to be having a clearance issue with my am9- chain ring hitting the chainstay
slx 12s 30t cog
mt800 BB with one spacer on the drive side
I am pretty much spot on 52mm chain line
Whats my problem? Whats the solution?

That's weird. Are you sure the chainring is correctly assembled on the crank?
Clearance with 32t Boost XT M8000 crank wasn't fantastic on my V1 AM9, just finished building the new V3 and there are lots of space with the same setup

Are you sure it's a Boost set-up? I'm using a non-Boost set-up and my 28 T chainring just clears the chainstay; at 30 T wouldn't clear.

Yeah it's one of the Shimano spline ones so it just slides into the grooves, although I did the it facing the wrong way for a moment

I recently built a V2 AM9.
With non boost cranks a 32T literally grazed the paint. The 30T had a stand off from the spider for chain clearance, this left it hard pressed on chainstay.

I bought boost XT cranks and all is well....

This is what I ordered
BB Axle Size: 24mm

Chainring Fitment: Shimano Direct Mount

Chainring Model: No Spider - No Chainring

Chainring Offset: 52mm Chainline

Size: 165mm

Suit BB Shell Width: 68-73mm

So it seems boost

It certainly wouldn't be the first time a online purchase of mine was incorrect

If it's the new FC-M8100-1, then yes, it should be by default. If it's XT FC-M8000, it needs the "-b1" suffix.

It's the m8100

-1? Just want to be absolutely sure, though I don't know if the single ring even mounts on the -2.

Anyone using a fidlock bottle and holder on an AM9? If so could you fit the larger 750ml or did you have to go with the smaller one?

Thanks!

First ride with the V3 AM9 today.
It's really really good.
You can feel the increased frame stiffness on the sprints. There's way more tyre clearance Vs my V1 (now for sale). But the best part seems to the the Super Deluxe Coil combined with the RRR link. It feels absolutely great, bottomless, controlled. I was concerned with the 450lbs spring giving me only 25% sag, but decided to try it anyway as per Bird suggestion. Will borrow a 400lbs spring anyway just to be sure

Curious to know how the tire clearance is compared to the V1?

Can't objectively say as I didn't measure, but I'd say between 3-5mm each side both at seat and chainstays.

Besides that, the biggest improvement seems to be the frame's stiffness, it's not a tiny difference. It kind of reminds me of the Commencal Meta AM 29 I tried last year in that regard
