Ok, was reading a little deeper on their website and state 27.5 x 2.8 won't fit, but 2.6 x 29 ain't supposed to fit either.

I can tell you that a 2.6 x 29 Rekon will fit on the rear mounted on a 29mm internal rim.

Was just curious if anyone tried fitting one.

Do it and let us know

If I had a rear plus wheel, I would. I don't ride with anyone on a plus bike.

Have a XL hightower LT on the way I picked up for a bargain, looking forward to getting it built!

Been on a canyon strive carbon (fixed link, removed the shapeshifter from the get go) for the last 2 years, been great but size L has been a little small tbh. Rode a non LT hightower and the XL reach was much better

Swapping the Ohlins TTX coil onto the Hightower as it's 200x57, should be a pretty sweet setup -

Ohlins TTX coil
Fox 36 FIT HSC/LSC 160mm
Hunt trail wide wheelset
Minion DHR2 2.3 3C exo front and rear
Renthal cockpit 760mm (some tight ass trees at the locals here in scotland)
XTR 11 speed groupset (34T chainring 42T cassette)
Code brakes
Transfer post / fabric scoop flat
Mallet DH pedals

Wicklow green frame, yellow/gold shock, orange forks......... certainly see me coming haha

I actually could try pretty easily. Same rotor size and cassette on my big honzo and was thinking about putting my 29er wheels on it this weeks for a spin. Was going to stick the plus wheels in the LT just as a placeholder anyways.

Will report back in a couple days, but i expect it to be very tight.

30mm ID rims with 2.4 WT on the HTLT. 40mm ID rims with 2.8s on the honzo

On the subject of coil shocks..... what spring rate are people running?

Ohlins has a 548 on it at the moment, will wait and see how it fairs sag wise and take it from there

I’m about 83kg

Cool, thanks.

Left is arc40 with specialized slaughter 2.8 ( they measured just over 2.7 )
Right is spank oozy 30mm ID with rekon 2.4 WT ( measure just over 2.3 )

There’s about 8mm clearance on each side of chainstay and seatstay.

I think realistically if i were to consider running plus I’d probably raise my fork to 160 and probably look at offset bushings for the rear shock to lift the BB back up, it’s already low enough for me in stock form

Interesting. I could probably get along with those fine, stock fork and all because bb height is already better than my TB. But, looks like the 29 fits better into the gap.

Looks like the 27.5+ would work if one wanted to. Got me thinking from the other thread about running a plus tire in the rear, 29 up front.

Sounds about right

Only getting 10mm sag with a 548 spring, tf calculator says that a 502 spring should be sweet

Cheers guys!

Kashima 175mm transfer ordered today, should be set for a ride later this week
