Good morning everyone. I have had my 2020 Roscoe 8 for about a month now. I'm 5'11" and bought a Large, should I have gotten a M/L? Or is it all by preference? I did go shorter on stem and swapped my 60mm to 35mm. Reading online I would have fallen in between both a M/L and L. I just felt like I didn't want to be too cramped up.

I do have another question, I wanted to use matchmaking system, but I see that the NX shifter has a built in bar clamp, am I able to get a GX shifter and just swap it out?

I’m 6’, so just slightly taller, and my L fits perfect. Preference? Probably or possibly but there are other things to take into account when fitting a bike. I have long arms so having a smaller bike would have made me feel cramped. I’m swapping out the dropper as I think I’ve worn it out and want one with more range but other than that, it’s been the right fit.

I’ve been looking at upgrading to GX as well and SCRAMs website says you can mix and match. I would confirm with your local bike shop though.

I’ve had my Roscoe 8 for two years now and am just as happy (and ecstatic) with it today as I was on day one.

thanks for the reply! Yeah, after tinkering and just riding, large fits perfect. I also want to replace my dropper post so I can have more travel. Would love to get more travel so I don't have to higher it from the seat stem. Riding almost everyday, checking what to upgrade everyday, lol. Little things here and there.

I really know how to spell SRAM. I’ll blame it on autocorrect.

My dropper post now freezes up on me. Kind of scary on big drops.... I’m going with the Fox Transfer. Brakes are next. I rode a Fuel EX 8 ever so briefly and the brakes were so much better.

Question for you guys. I am going to go tubeless, I checked my wheel and looks like it’s “tubeless ready”. Do I still need to put tape? Thought I read somewhere that it should already be done? Don’t know how to post pics in here but I took pictures. Any help is greatly appreciated. And if I do need tape, says it’s 40mm, do I go 40mm or do I need to go a little wider?

EDIT: Never mind, just checked website, strips are already installed! just need my sealant and stems.

so my brother gave me his XO1 AXS groupset, what do I need to fit the X01 Eagle cassette? After looking at things over, I am thinking about getting a hope 4 pro hub with SRAM XD and get it fitted to my original wheel. What conversion kit do I need since the rear wheel is a 141 QR. would it be this?

I already bought my sram dub BB. figured I might as well change everything, move everything from my roscoe over to my wife's marlin 6 and move on, lol. Any help is greatly appreciated.

That looks to be the correct adapter to go from the 12mm to the 5mm QR.

I just put Spank Oozy/DT Swiss 350's on my Roscoe 7. Looks good. The rear hub is nearly silent.

I'd love to hear your feedback on the dub BB. I almost ordered one. Maybe the next upgrade, then the fork Smile

I just upgraded to Shimano SLX 7100 brakes and RT76 180mm rotors front and rear. Tremendous improvement! They do take up a lot of real estate on the handlebars though.

I put on some Spank Oozy Vibrocore bars last night to match the new wheels.

Very nice. Great color combo. The brake levers do seem big but I bet you can stop ever so quickly!

How long did it take you to do the brake upgrade?

I purchased from my LBS and they put them on for free! I'm new to mountain bikes, so I haven't built up my tool kit yet. I'm used to doing all the work on my moto bikes, but still learning the ins and outs of mountain bike components. When the LBS offered to put them on for free, I could hardly refuse. Now, to pick up that Shimano bleed kit and some hose cutters!
