33 lbs and 13 ounces with ENVE M930 rims, Maxxis Minion DHF 2.5" DH tires both front and rear. Built burly and it's a beast.

Just a quick question - can you confirm which product you ordered? Is it this one:

https://www.workscomponents.co.uk/20-degree-ec44-ec49-angle-headset---to-suit-tapered-steerer-tube-355-p.asp

Thinking of doing something similar to my Carbine but retaining the 51mm offset fork, so will probably only go -1 degree.

Cheers.

Well in full disclosure, I didn’t stay at a Holiday Inn last night, but that should be the one you need.

Yes, and it still would give you a 2 degree slacker or more steep headtube angle. The downside could be that your steering could be a bit sluggish, which was why I changed my fork for one with a 44mm offset.

The steering will be twitchier. And harder to weight the front.
Been there done that already.

well if you have the typical 29er 51mm fork offset that might be why.

I’ve ridden the 44mm offset Fox 36 with the Grip damper, and my current fork is the 2019 Fox 36 with the EVOL damper and it’s also the 44mm offset. Haven’t had a chance to compare or ride the new Rockshox Lyrik with its 42mm offset, but so far... I’ve been happy and impressed on the new offset standard having used it now on both a Transition Sentinel frame and with my Intense Carbine.
