I recently lost the SWAT multi tool that came with the bike out on the local trails. $40 for a replacement seems ridiculous. Are there any other cheaper options that fit into the holder below the water bottle cage or do I just shell out the money?

Yeah, it's an expensive tool. No alternatives though, pull out that wallet.
