Any thoughts on internal gearboxes for winter cycling? I would rather not have to mess with cleaning the exposed gears. Was thinking of something like this: But would like to know how they work in -10C first.

I've had a lot of people run Alfine hubs in the winter without issue. Never seen a Pinion one in action in Calgary.
