Which of the two do you think would be a good upgrade for my OG ht? Currently running 27+ but worried when the rain and mud time comes around.

Xm481s are great. No experience with the others.

What's your current fork? (guessing 36; I think it's the only compatible one)

Also, how do you get along with 29ers?

A 150 pike. Push makes the acs3 kit for fox and rs.

Current setup is 27plus. Always on a 27.5bike. Never on a 29

Well, so the politically correct version is to tell you to first ride your HT in 29er mode, and decide from there. However, I've ridden that bike, and it's killer as a 29. So, with that in mind, here's MY opinion:

Don't get the ACS3. It's pricey enough that if you're going to drop that kind of coin, you should just sell your Pike and get a coil fork. I'd spend the money on the wheels (make sure to get rotors for quick and easy swaps), and then spend $80 on a Vorsprung Luftkappe for your Pike. It's a huge fork upgrade (not quite as good as the ACS3), and super cheap. You can probably do both of those in your budget.

Budget just went up. I'll be able to afford the acs3 and the xm481 but just the rims. That vs a new wheelset of industry nine backcountry 360s. Any rhoughts?

Well, that's always a good day....

I have a luftkappe and XM481s (though not on a highttower). Both are fantastic. I'm very happy with the coil spring on my DH bike, but on the trail bike the luftkappe made the Pike better feeling than the 36s, Lyrics, etc. I've ridden. Haven't felt like the fork is lacking on the trail bike regardless of where I'm riding it. Also, 29x 2.5 or 2.6 on 30mm rims like the XM481s def is a confidence boost. Havent had them but Industry 9 is $$$ compared to DT/Hope.

That said, I've ridden the stock Highttower and it's a beast even without upgrades. Enjoy
