Based on the above mentioned frames what would be your choice and why? keep in mind that all would be ran with a 160mm Fox 36 RC2 and the Float X2 Air. No limit on price point and it would be for chunky AM/Trail riding.

That rules the Scott Genius out then - you can't fit a Float X2.

If I can't fit a coil shock (and I would...!), then any of them really, they're all really good bikes. If I can fit a coil, then that narrows it down to the Yeti or the Orbea. Probably the Yeti, because I've always fancied one.

Fair point. I will however be using the air can in back due to the tune ability and my weight (230lbs).

Why specifically would you take the Orbea over the other options?

X2 on the Rollon. I love mine, can’t speak for the others. It just does everything well.

O+

I wanted to stick with 29r wheels due to already having the majority of the parts and the better roll-over in rougher terrain. I ended up getting a new Yeti SB 5.5 and it's very fast on everything.

Ibis ripmo seems to be a bike that rules them all!! From the reviews, the bike seems to handle everything from steep climbs to chunky descents. I am waiting for my ripmo to be delivered coming from a Giant Reign advance 1.

I like the numbers on the Ripmo but hate the paint options. Also for the lighter weight long mileage stuff it seems like a pig. My Yeti is 26.47lbs as shown in these pictures and doesn't have anything dangerously light on it.

Thanks! I'm enjoying it a lot!

The Ripmo kicks ass.

I have ridden both the 5.5 and the Ripmo extensively (probs 8 rides on ripmo, 10 on yeti)

I prefer the Ripmo, super steep seat tube, your right on top of the cranks and very nice pedal platform. I wouldn't call it a pig but I would have preferred them to design it around a 150mm fork. It handles well enough at all speeds, but between a 2.5 DHF WT and 160mm Fox 36, the front end feels super burly while the rear end feels more athletic and sporty. Be super careful with sizing on this bike. The reach number on the large looks roomy, but the seat tube angle is so steep that it actually feels a fair bit smaller than the reach suggests. I am 6'1" - 6'2" and would absolutely go XL. I had the stock shitty dropper post jacked up to the minimum insertion point.

The Yeti is a nice climber too. More active suspension thought. Some people prefer this, as it tends to be connected with excellent traction. Great technical climber. On the descent, excellent small bump compliance, probably due to the more active suspension.

Great feedback! It was high on my list but I ended up with the 5.5 due to price and geometry along with being a huge fan or the switch infinity suspension.

Your going to be stoked. 5.5, Ripmo, Hightower LT, all excellent bikes
