My wife is looking for pair of wide cleated MTB shoes. She is a size 38 and about 102mm across the ball of her foot. US width is a true E. Lots of time with regular shoes, they run narrow, and she gets 4E. She now has Lakes that we had to use a heat gun to blow out the sides, but they are still not ideal. Any advice would be appreciated.

farout, good luck resolving this!

for what it's worth, i recently got a pair of afton keegans https://aftonshoes.com/blogs/keegan-shoe/keegan-shoe

I've found them rather wide. my foot is on the narrow side but still, these have noticeably more room across the toe than the 5.10s and Merrells I own

make sure you post how you go encase anyone else has the same dilemma

WIDE & X-WIDE SHOES

These shoes are amazing! I have already ordered a pair of running shoes for work. I wore these shoes all day, and had no foot pain. I have plantar fasciitis, metatarsalgia and neuropathy, and had no pain all day. The arch support is perfect, much more comfortable than my $400 orthotics. When they came in the mail, I immediately tried them on, couldn't believe when I stood up--it was heaven! I am a nurse. I have been telling everybody I work with about these shoes.
