The bottle cage mounts for the B-rad system is welcomed. Not sure why other manufacturers aren’t doing it.
Also, shock may work with a more common 230x60 stroke for a bit more rear travel like on the Slash!!

Weird, when I was checking R8 price, it was actually cheaper, however marginally.

In Poland the 2019 model is 200 PLN (~50 USD) cheaper than the 2018 one. Perhaps MSRP policy differs from country to coutnry.

^^ This. US pricing on all Trek bikes is up from tariffs, same with most importers across the board.

I've read somewhere this does work but I've never had an issue pushing the bike really hard with the 150mm travel...
