2019 Jeffsy looking HOT.

Wasn’t planning on a new bike this year, but now I am.

I wish they showed the 27.5 version in that teaser clip. I don’t like the look of the 29 at all. I’m hoping the new 27.5 will be slacker and longer in reach than the old model. Really want 64.5 - 65def HA and a reach on the medium around 455. Albeit with that lower stand over pictured in the video I guess sizing up would be an option for optimal reach. Excited to see what comes money is burning a hole in my pocket. That said I would still buy an old model if they had a large at a decent price!

There was a picture of the 2019 Jeffsy 27 floating around Pinkbike a week or two ago. It looked like new paint and specs only. Geo looked unchanged for the 27. Hopefully we get the details from YT soon though.

Yeah I'm still thinking the 29 is getting the makeover this year. The 27 looks the same. I guess we'll see soon.

Highly unlikely they would go below 65/65.5 on the HTA, perhaps with a shorter offset fork, given the existence of the Capra. Personally my ideal Jeffsy would be same reach/stack as current (460mm on large), 64.5/65 HTA (flip chip), shorter offset fork, 77/78 STA, 440mm STL, slight reduction in progressivity, slight bump to anti-squat and room for full size water bottle in front triangle. 160 front/150 rear travel, Fox 36 GRIP2 fork and DHX2 climb switch shock, carbon build with carbon wheels and components to keep weight down and then DH casing tires for more damp ride, totalling 30ish lbs weight... basically a killer descender but more agile/better climber than Capra. I do not need 170/180mm travel.

If they don't change the 27 this year, I may have to put my 2017 CF 27 up for sale this summer to get some value before the next one is announced (depending what the geo on the 29 is).

No I’m sure they won’t, but it’s my hope/wish list. Really number wise I want a shorter travel Capra. Which frankly is miles too much bike for U.K. riding/enduro racing. In my opinion anyway. In fact something like the Stumpjumper evo, would be perfect just with proper spec rather than how specialised make it.

I always like how progressive the Jeffsy was, but then I ran a coil on mine.

A riding buddy I know bought the base Capra 29 and reduced the travel to 150 front/rear. Most people increase the travel of their bikes, he went the other way. He says he likes the climbing improvement.

Got a Jeffsy 27 CF about a month ago and I am really impressed with this bike. I did do a few upgrades that I think really improved the performance. The change was to ditch the e13 tires for some maxxis minions, this made a huge improvement in rolling resistance, cornering and handling. I also a swapping the e13 cassette for a sunrace 11-46. The e13 has performed well, but I like the ratios on the Sunrace much better for steep climbs and it does not creek like the e13. Great bike and went for the cf 27 because I really love the Pike fork and rockshox suspension. Really have dialed in now and it descends faster than my Enduro bike that has 160 travel on it. What really shocked me is how good this things climbs on fire roads and steep technical sections. Really like the steep seat angle. Took a few rides to get used to the e13 dropper post but now I really prefer it over others I have used.

Curios what other changes people have made to their Jeffsy ?

Amazing bike. I started with the base AL model and have pretty much overhauled everything at this point. DVO Diamond fork, Topaz Shock, MT7 Brakes, DVO dropper. But I am kinda with you on the ethirteen dropper, if it fits you, and you understand it’s mechanical not hydraulic it’s a fantastic dropper. I am keeping mine around for another build as it’s a very useful and reliable post.

I think they would have released the 27 at this point if it wasn’t getting the same makeover as the 29. It would also be hard to sell a 27, when the 29 already got an update and every prospective buyer knows it’s getting revamped. Not that this is much different then buying any bike and model year, but IMO they will update both.

Edit: they’re here!

Looks like CF got the frame redesign, AL remains unchanged.

Jeffsy 27 has always been a 150/150 bike, except the pro-race model which has always been a 160/160.

Last year was also 150mm , those who upgraded the debonair could have had 160mm

Can’t help but notice that the CF comp is a generalized downgrade from the CF last year and CF1the year before that. Aaluminum rear triangle and downgrade in several parts.
