Dear Cycle Junkies,

I am currently in the midst of fulfilling my dedicated plan of an extensive tour this fall, and I’m at the point of obtaining a proper touring bike. The bike that I have my eyes on at the moment is a Kuwahara CrMo Chromoly Ishwata. I haven’t had a chance to view the bike in person, though it seems to be in great shape. What I am curious about is if this bike is capable of standing the test to an extensive tour (primarily on pavement, but with the odd dirt or gravel road). I understand that this old school bike doesn’t offer all the luxuries as the modern day tourer does, but I am content with having to work a little harder to achieve my goal; as long as I can get there in one piece. Any input on the matter helps, as I look to further myself in the touring world.

Thank you and sweet riding, Paz
