My disc brake pads are a little worn... okay almost all gone, and I was looking on Bluesky for a new set. I see two types of pads, metal and resin. Any advice on which to choose and why? Prices seem very similar, with resin pad being about 5 USD less than metal.

I ride mostly trail and some enduro with top trail speeds of 20-25 mph and steepest grades around 20%.

Metal/Sintered operates better than resin at a higher temperature. They also last longer but resin is quieter and probably has better initial bite.

Metal pads operate better hot, but are noisey and sometimes less effective than resin at low temps. Get resin unless you see a lot of sustained hard braking in your future.

I read an article, on here I think. Heavier riders are better off with metal, lighter riders resin. This is for gravity riding.
