Back in 2013 John Cowan made a bike company, Cowan bikes, made some carbon dirt jump frames and completely disappeared off the internet as of nov 1 2014, I can’t find any mention of them after that, what happened?

I'm sure he's a great guy, but the idea that carbon is stronger than everything else seems odd. "Cowan claims he didn’t make the move to carbon because of the weight though. Instead, he made the move because the material is stronger and more impact resistant than anything else on the market."

I'm no materials expert, so who knows.... I do know some Enduro racers (with DH/jump background) around here who are regularly breaking carbon frames and bugging the hell out of warranty departments.

Probably same deal as with YT's carbon "play". Still available though only a limited edition of 25 were made. Gives you a good idea of how big the carbon DJ market is.

Aluminum and other materials are only “stronger” because they use more of it, carbon is the strongest per gram
