Hey,

Canadian couple from Fernie, BC looking for some info on biking in Wales, UK over the Xmas/New Year holidays.

We will be covered in snow over here, so we are wondering what the (average) conditions are like in Wales??? Big Grin or Blank Stare

Cheers!

(Average) Conditions in Wales over Christmas/New Year are likely to be the usual damp, wet and miserable grey driech that seem to run from December to March! Having said that we’ve had a pretty amazing summer (by our standards) so with any luck we’ll get a couple of months of crisp, cold and sunny weather over the festive season.

However, wherever you’re headed in Wales you’re never far from first class trails! Here in North Wales we’ve got no shortage of quality trail centres - arguably the original trail centre in the world @ Coed Y Brennin to Llandegla, Penmachno, Gwydir and the Marin trail.
We’ve also got more DH orientated “bike park” style tracks at Antur Stiniog & Revolution.
Finally, not forgetting the amazing natural riding throughout Snowdonia and beyond!

If it’s South Wales then there’s equally oodles of great riding - Bike Park Wales, Cwmcarn, Afan and the Forest of Dean.

Happy Trails wherever your going and hope you enjoy our little country!

Possible snow, likely rain, not hugely cold though. Riding is great in Wales, even in the winter, just bring the right clothing and attitude.

What? FoD has never been in Wales lol - Try England. It really isn't that far though if your basecamp is here in South Wales.

Weather wise I can only really echo what others have said.. it's very much a "hope for the best and usually you'll be ok" affair.
