I have been biking and hiking these trail for over 20 years. Today I went to go for a hike on these trails and some one has posted "no trespassing private property"signs on all the trails. I thought that the city of Guelph owned these trails and now it is private?
If anyone here has any information on what has happened can you please let me know. Not only did I bike often on these trails but I hike them during winter. It would be a shame if these got shut down.
Been a busy summer / fall so took a bit to get out there for a look at the signs. The land is still city property and managed by Water Works. The signs are just to remind people that it is private property ( the city's) so if you are caught doing something the city does not like you can be charged with trespassing. The Guelph Hiking club still has marked trails and includes them in their inventory.
