Hi There ..
I have a front hub ( Ride Aplha on a commencal meta ) that I believe could do with replacement bearings as there is a little bit of side to side play ..

So my question is .. how do you get these end caps off that the axle goes through in order to extract the bearings ?

End caps are most likely press fit into the hub. Clamp in a soft jawed vice, or use soft jawed pliers to just pull them out.

Pliers. Some are a pain to get out and you typically have to pull much harder than you would imagine.

i use a socket that fits inside the spacer bore with an extension bar then, twist the bar towards the rim, provided its a press fit they usually pop out with a couple wiggles

almost like a bottle opener

Partly insert the axle and use that to help never them out.
