So, is it just me or common issue?

Usual setup:
20PSI in the front
30PSI in the back
240LB without gear
Aggressive and hard charging riding
Picked up bike in September

Front wheel beef:
23mm narrow rims with paper thin EXO tires just does not work. Folded over many times. Ended up running a tube. Wheel is in perfect shape.

Real wheel beef:
Many flat spots. One severe flat spot that blew out the rim sidewall. Rim is toast. In the 13+ years of riding, never have I managed to flat spot a rim in such a severe manner.

Replaced both rims with 29mm wide setup. DH casing 2.4 WT DHR in the back. DD 2.5 DHF in the front. No time on the bike yet.

Coming off a 2010 Giant Reign. OEM tires got replaced right out the gate but the original WTB wheels lasted eight years.

Curious to see if this is purely a EXO issue or are the wheels made off cheese?

Anyone else replaced the OEM wheels and tires pretty quick?

I dented my rear rim on about my 3rd ride.
But did land awkwardly on a rock off a bigger jump.
No further problems in the 11 months since. Still running the original HR2 exo.

I'm hard charging, but I weight 140. EXO works great for me.

If I were hard charging and 240, I'd put a set of Flows and Double Down tires on right from the showroom floor. Stock bikes are not made for you.

Yikes thats a massive pressure difference between front and rear.
If your only 20psi on a 23mm rim then yes you'll be rolling your tyres.

But it does just sound like you better off with a burlier wheel set and tyres.
The stock setup is specced to meet a price point and is not ideal for heavy hard chargers
