So I recently purchased a used 2017 trance advanced 0. While swapping the components from my 2017 trance advanced 1 onto this frame I noticed a hairline crack running parallel on the top tube, roughly centered in the bend. I then looked at my old frame and notice a similar size crack in roughly the same area.
Has anyone else seen this? Is this something common on these frames? Should I be worried? Should I take it in and try for warranty?
I just noticed what sounds like the same thing on my 2018 trance advanced 2. I tapped it with a coin and there's no noticeable sound difference. I think and hope it's just a crack in the paint.
It’s where the final decorative colour layer has been fitted over a stress point. It isn’t a safety issue but Giant will replace them. (I was told to keep riding until a replacement arrived)
If 3 have it, many more will too.
After the 3rd frame Giant swapped my 2016 Anthem Advanced SX for a 2019 Trance 29 Pro 1.
