I’m looking to get a dj bike but don’t know what wheel size to get. I was thinking if getting 26” and a pair of 24” to change around . Will the 24s fit in the 26” fork and will it require any other parts to make them fit in?

Almost everyone who runs a suspension fork on a 24"-specific dirt jumper runs a suspension fork that was designed for 26"s. Companies simply don't make quality DJ suspension forks that are 24"-specific because it's a tiny market, and most 24" suspension forks are for youth bikes. So, when you see a 24" DJ, like this one https://images.ridemonkey.com/index.php?size=full&src=http%3A%2F%2Fi252.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fhh39%2FNickRummy%2FIMG_4664.jpg, note the extra 1"-ish gap above the tire in the fork. It makes no difference at all.
The main question whether a certain wheel will fit in a fork is whether the fork is for 9mm quick release axle, 20-mm thru axle, or 15mm thru axle.

I´ve got a 24 NS Capital with a 26in Marzocchi DJ1 on it. I lowered the travel from 100 to 70, which makes ALL the difference in the world in ride feel. I come from a BMX background and that steep HT angle is a must for street riding.
You´re totally good with a 26 in fork, but in my opinion, anything over 80mm makes a 24 ride funny, so you might want to look at options that you can lower. I had this Marzocchi nerd guy in California service mine and he did a great job, you might want to get ahold of him. He has a shitload of old forks and parts that he can maybe put together something for you. Additionally, when I spoke with him earlier this year he actually had a 24 specific street suspension fork (made by Marzocchi a long time ago) that maybe you´d be into. Peep the link, and he´s a super cool dude, we talked on the phone and he dropped knowledge on me.
Only thing about 26in forks and 24in wheels is that footjams suck haha. I got small feet and they just get sucked under the crown and crushes my toes haha.

My local bike shop has a Union Street Molly Maguire 24"-specific DJ/Park bike for sale. (It was actually mine, and traded in by a guy I sold it to a couple of years ago).
