I prefer concave pedals. Not too thick, but they don't need to go overboard trying to be thin. I don't like screws for grip because they tear up my shoes too quickly.

I have been using Easton Flatboy pedals for many years now & I don't think I will ever change. They are rock solid & very grippy.

Burgtecs are awesome, but too expensive for some. The new, cheaper composite versions are on the way.

I've been riding dirt with a pair the plastic deitys for a couple years now and they've been awesome.

Apparently they don't make Easton Flatboy pedals anymore. I have also used Shimano Saint PD-MX80 flats and they are pretty good.
