Not codes, but my Guide Rs didnt stop me during the last stage of an enduro race, lucky me stopped on a boulder.
Run MT5 now, no issues at all during two days of an enduro race. Modulatio and power was consistent.

I ran MT7's. Best brakes I have had and very strong.
Maintenance free, bled them once a year just because, not that they needed.

People complain about modulation but never found it an issue. Depends how hard you are at grabbing the levers. I am fairly soft with mine. Being so strong I found I had to pull them less which helps on long descents with arm pump.

I've heard people pairing shimano levers with mt5/7 calipers. Solves the plastic problem, not sure how much functionality is lost.

I have MT7 calipers with new XT 8100 levers and Goodridge hoses and fittings. Stops my heavy 115 kg ass like nothing >D Best brake combo I ever tried. Modulation is great (more Shimano like, but not on/off). Overall very nice Big Grin

MT5 with HC3 levers is simply the way to go

HC3 levers are nice, but the plastic master cylinder is shite. I broke mine in a crash and then went with XT levers... never looked back.

The new Shimano levers are the best I've ever tried.
