tire pressure, rim weight, possibly over tightening axles, wheel out of true, and rubbing somwhere, brake pad rubbing, grime on the axle.. so many different things

None of these things did matter if you look back at this thread.
One thing I remember is that even tightening the cassette this was coming lose, so I think it could be rubbing due to some missing washer or a broken part in the cassette. Possible?

Among the mechanical ideas, it's a more plausible theory than anything else suggested here!

I still say it's ergonomics or kinematics.
