Retail sales supervisor and bicycle technician
Job Location: Vernon, BC

and looking for new full time, permanent staff members.

Primary Focus:
Retail sales and service of bicycles
As a member of the team your responsibilities will include but are not
limited to; on floor sales, merchandising, online marketing, general and
advanced bicycle service on a wide variety of bicycles, managing staff
schedules and work duties, general store organization, warranty claims
and inventory organization.

We are looking for experienced, pro-active candidates who are self-
motivated meticulous problem solvers. Previous work experience with
road and mountain bikes is required.

Job Qualifications
• Strong customer service/interpersonal skills
• The ability to lead
• Knowledge of current cycling technology
• Mechanical skills, altitude for dealing with changing, evolving
technology
• Strong technical sense and an ability to diagnose and repair
• Comfortable communicating and acting within a team environment
• The ability to work independently to meet deadlines in a stressful
environment
• Time management/ organization, the ability to make and meet set
deadlines
• Shimano Di2 electronic shifting certification
• S-tec certifications on braking systems, shifting, general repairs and
retail service
• In depth knowledge of Lightspeed retail POS system
• At least 1 year of bicycle shop experience
• Foreign languages are an asset

Set wage at 16$ / hour.

All that for just $16 an hour eh?! I understand that there isn't a lot of money in the retail bike business, but $16 an hour? Really? Yes I'm from Ontario, and not British Columbia, but it doesn't matter what part of Canada you live in, that's a low wage for the skills your looking for. Just my opinion. Not trying to be a dick or anything like that, it's just sad to see. You'd have to live in your parents basement to be able to survive for that kind of money, again, just my thoughts.
