I am looking at the new Demo for downhill and freeride. I live in Utah so I spend many days at the bike parks, but also head down south to hit big ass rampage stuff. Are the new Demos good for freeride, or should they stick to more downhill racing type of riding? I know they are advertised as a race bike, but any help will be nice!

They’re not great as they have a really linear suspension curve so not very good for big hits. You can get a progressive link from Specialized which will improve this but you’d be better off suited with a gambler or a commencal furious

The Gambler is very good for that kind of stuff, I think its very close to as “playful” as the Voltage was, yet much faster. Its not super progressive, but moderately so(perfect IMO), however the frame feels like a big bmx bike thats easy to manipulate.
