Just bought a new set of hope tech3 e4 brakes from leisure lakes, put them on my 2015 trek slash 7.
Ive got play in them.
When i pull the brake slightly, it grips the disc, but i can rock my wheel back and forth, and can clearly see the pads moving inside the caliper as if they are not long enough.
Is this normal or am i taking them back.
£300 is a lot to spend on brakes only to find they are not as good as my shimano deore brakes.

O+

All brakes will have some amount of pad play in them.

Rotor wear ?

There's a wear limit on each rotor, usually 1.5mm (Shimano, Sram, Hope, Tektro) or 1.8mm (Magura).

If rotor are news, just contact Hope

Some small play is nothing unusual. You can check with Hope to be sure (and post answer here...)
