Bike 1. Sram nx is tried and true and shimano brakes are beast. slx is kinda touchy and is not as smooth as nx. rims and tires are better too. also the x fusion manic is pretty low on bike two

Thanks for the reply. Bike 1 is actually the cheaper of the two.

Bike 1: Rossignol All Track Trail for $2,006

Bike 2: Marin Hawk Hill 3 for $2,187

Does that change anything?

If possible take both for a demo ride.

The geometry and fit has changed a lot on bikes over the years.

The best parts won't make up for a bike that doesn't fit you well.

Both look like Trek bikes. If so, i would say neither you can get way more for your money.

What would you recommend for $2000 that gets me more for my money?

Send me a link to those two bikes and Ill be happy to help. I am about 90% certain the specs on those bikes are not for 2000 dollar bikes. If I am wrong, i will humbly accept that.

What size are you? Theres a really good deal on an XL banshee spitfire near me.

Yeah, I just got a used banshee spitfire for 1400 and saw one for 1200, and that was a medium. You can also get really good deals on process 134s and could probably get a 153 in that price too. Same could be said about giants trance.
