On chain reaction I've seen supposedly new forks with insane markdowns like $300 fox 32s or this:https://www.chainreactioncycles.com/mobile/us/en/manitou-mattoc-forks-boost/rp-prod185732. So what's the catch?

Some people have received a different model of fork than the ad says, for example - Ad says Manitou Mattoc Pro, but what is shipped is Mattoc Comp Boost. So it might be worth phoning or messaging them to confirm the fork you're interested in is what is says, and be prepared it could still be wrong and you might have to return it.

Is that the only problem because it's still a very good deal with that?

In my experience CR is a very good company to buy from with a good reputation. If I had the cash I'd be buying a new fork from them atm.
A while ago I bought a fox Float X2 from them for only £300. It didn't come with fox tools, pump etc but I new that before I bought it. It was still a good deal.
Maybe the same might be the case with these forks? Maybe not.
Anyway they have never sold me a faulty item.
