My son (7) wants to try mountain biking. He’s a good rider on the road but looking for recommendations for easy single track trails to give him a taste of off-road. Something with a few roots and downhill bits, but nothing technical.
Aside from Roadside Attraction and Bobsled — which might be a bit too much for him on his first outing, does anyone have any suggestions?

I’m in East Van so North Shore is preferable, but can drive east a bit too if there’s anything to recommend there.

Thanks!!

Second this. Trailforks is the way to go. If you're in North Coquitlam area, the Bert Flinn loop is really easy (and wide), with enough roots and gnar to make you think you're MTBing. When you get overconfident, Black dog is good next step. :-)
