I’m looking to purchase a YT jeffsy comp/pro or a specialized stumpjumper alloy comp. either one would be 27.5 tire size. I’m just curious if anyone has used both and which you prefer. I’m not able to test both so I’m looking for opionions. Also which one climbs better too.
Thanks in advance for the info!

Those are both really nice bikes. I had a 2019 SJ carbon comp and it climbed just fine. Honestly, I find most bikes climb just fine today. I would not hesitate to purchase either one. I have run in to a few people now that have the Jeffsey, and they all said they loved them. I do think the alloy Jeffsey frame looks way nicer than the alloy SJ. If I had to pick, I would go with the YT.

Jeffsy...I own one and it's a solid bike. I rode a stumpy last week and could tell a difference right away.
You get more for your money with YT....and your LBS will still take your money to service it just like they would if you bought a stumpy from them

I bought a 2019 stumpy 27.5 Alloy Comp. I didn’t get along very well with it until I added 2 10cc volume spacers to the front fork and the largest spacer in the rear shock. The bike wallowed, and sagged in wayyyy to deep causing too many pedal strikes and it was frustrating. I mean really frustrating. I hit everything on the trail with my platforms. I’m now very very happy running the bare minimum sag for my weight 143lbs and am thrilled with the bike since I’ve changed the suspension. For the life of my though on the camp alloy I can only assume the bike sus is setup for a lazy pedal along the sea shore. So damn soft from factory.

I have a buddy that has a jeffsy, and he loves it. Its an awesome all around bike, and its carbon with a better component spec.

jeffsy.

slacker to smash faster
steeper STA for better climbing
better spec'd for price
full carbon, incl triangle

i'm a new rider, and i love the confidence my cf pro gives me. i sized up and got the large since i was in between sizes and glad i did. still very playful.

YT is way better price/performance, unless you get some crazy good deal on stompjumper. They are not worlds apart, you will be good on anyone of them.

Any experience with a Jeffsy when something goes wrong/need to take it to a shop for warranty/ How does that work with YT?

Ranging from excellent to poor if you search forum... If you are unexperienced with servicing maybe better take through LBS, this way you can at least go to someone in person to release your anger... Big Grin

So parts are warranted by the manufacturer. Anything with the frame is YT. If your in the U.S. they always respond to me in a day or less.

YT Jeffsy. Have ridden both. Own the Jeffsy 27.5 and 29. You will not be disappointed. My LBS has been fine to support maintenance and YT customer service has been great. Avoid e13 components if possible - the tires are ok. The wheel sets are great. The rest is pretty dodgy.
