Almost Back on my dream bike!!! I bought this 2001 Schwinn Straight 8 back in 2003 after regretfully selling my 2000 pull shock Straight 8. In 2013 I bought a 2011 Canfield Jedi to "upgrade to modern technology" and sold the S8 in 2016. But I just can't get comfortable riding the Jedi. I don't know if it's because of the head angle or because it's a small and I'm just tall enough that i should be on a medium but it just doesn't feel right. Well! the guy I sold my Straight 8 too didn't have a need for it anymore and I bought it back!! Just waiting for shipping and delivery confirmation!!! So stoked! More than likely I'll be putting the 2012 Boxxer that came with on the Jedi on the Straight 8 and upgrading the brakes!! SUPER STOKED!!!! (picture taken by current owner, My seat will be black and in the correct orientation)

that is an early , DH 9 didnt think that model came out until schwinn returned ownership to yeti

the large models where called ' way big '

that model was copied by most D.H. frame manufacturers

such as the norco antrum, which I test rode and found, not to be the true race bike my yeti is !

I still ride mine; I have 1 straight 8 from schwinn, and 1 from yeti both with pull shocks

I have 4x DH 9 same as yours, which in 2014 I had repainted in the yeti anniversary colors

2002 straight 8 --- 4x 2004 5 DH9s---303 91

nice collection!! mines a 2001 Straight 8. Schwinn also died on 9/11 when they filed for bankruptcy. 2001 was the last year of production before going to crap I big box stores. I recently pulled all Schwinn identifying decals off. the only decals that remain are the Straight 8's on the swing arm, the LAWWILL patent pending on the chain stay and I put two small lone red USA Tomatoes on the top tube. I'll post pictures up soon. right now I have a 2013 Boxxer on it. New brakes, drive train and tubeless set up are on the list. I'm also waiting to hear back from Risse Racing about a custom upper crown with 1-1/8 steerer tube for my DVO Emerald
