I have a 2019 Santa Cruz 5010 with a DPS shock. I can pick up a DPX2 (black) shock for $250, but it's off of a 2019 29" Stumpjumper. Is this a good idea? Do I need to make adjustments more than Volume spacers, like shims and tuning? I can also get a DPX2 (Kashima) for $350 but it's off a 5010. Should I suck it up and pay the extra to get the one from the 5010? Also, I like the look of the black over the Kashima.

They will not work. Specialized uses a proprietary mounting system that is only compatible with their bikes and will not work with other brands. You also must make sure when looking for aftermarket shocks to get the correct eye-to-eye and stoke measurements, as well as metric or trunnion mounts

The 2019 5010 uses a 210x50 Metric shock with 30x8mm rear hardware and 20x8mm front hardware, so if you're getting it off of a bike other than the 5010, make sure you follow those measurements
