I’m curious as to what people use for tire pressure in the summer. I rode a fairly rough trail on the weekend on my norco Bigfoot with 4.9 choa yang tires. I was running around 12 psi trying to keep up with my brother on a skinny wheel hardtail. Long story short I felt like I was being bounced all over the place. I dropped pressure and had a much smoother more controlled ride.

Is there a minimum pressure I should stick to to avoid damage to the rim and tube?

I run 8ish with tubes. Your tire should have the min-max psi on the sidewall.
