Hi,

Cracked my rear rim and need a replacement. Current wheel is Spank so tempted to get the Vibracore 350 (can get it quite cheap). Also been recommended DT Swiss FR560 by the bike shop, meant to be tougher but are a bit more expensive.

Any suggestions?

Cheers

DT Swiss is what I swear by, they are very awesome and take a solid beating. I’ve been running FR570’s on my DH bike and they are the only rim that holds up the longest out of all of them.

a 560 is a strong rear 30mm
for lighter and probably strong as the spank junk you could even use ex511, or ex471. 30, and 25mm respectively.
if you want a 27.5mm internal rim perhaps you can find an older FR570

Not the Vibrocore 350. They haven’t held up well for me at all.

I've put my ex511 through the wringer and it's held up amazingly well.
EG: riding in Whistler and I took the exact same line as my buddy who was riding WeAreOne rims, same pressure as me. He cracked his rim on a square edge, but I pinch flatted. No damage to the rim laterally, vertically, no dings nothing.

I’ve been running some DT Swiss FR570 for the last 4 years on the DH bike. Most boomproof rims I ever had. I highly recommend them.

My 511s on race face vault hubs are going to be done soon....
Good to hear they are up to the task!
